Adding the second storey to this family home meant adding two new bathrooms. While continuing the monochrome palette to the upstairs spaces, the ensuite and the main bathroom (currently occupied by a toddler and a teenager) use pattern and texture to keep interest in these function-first spaces.
The ensuite is bold in its graphic black and white scheme. While the walnut vanity and marbled tile bring a vintage appeal that soften the space the overall look is classic and bold.
The main criteria with this bath was that it would suit the house while having the flexibility to change with its occupants. Primarily used by the family’s toddler and teenager, the bath needed to maintain the monochrome scheme of the house while bringing some fun for the kids. Using a large format hexagon tile, the flooring has a playful random pattern that still looks refined. Yellow trucks and accents speak to the toddler’s current loves but the overall space maintains a calmness and maturity for the teen and guests of the house.
